Wouldn't Trade it For Anything
Rain on a summer morning
Laying in bed
Glossy water droplets drip across the sill of my window
Showing me a distorted view of the outside world
Blankets pulled across my chest
Listening to the sound of the rain hitting my roof
Drizzling and creating the kind of serenity that can't be bought or sold
And just in case you were wondering
I am thinking of you
Waiting for the vibrations of my phone to fill my bedroom
Making my heart lurch at the thought of
You
Watching for the screen to light up
Providing the space with a dim reminder of the sun
That once seemed to caress this same room with the bright energy that would bring my dreaming mind
to the base of reality
And with the feeling of the freshness in the air
I smile letting the sound of the music the water is making embrace my soul
Perfect
Even on a day like today
