I'm Always Wrong

I've always known this, from the start -
I had this feeling you'd break my heart.
But some part of you made me not care -
the same part that told me we'd make a good pair.
But, as always, I seem to be wrong -
I will forever be your "friend."
And I hope you realize, before too long
that I'm through with playing pretend.
