Ours is not to reason why, ours is but to do or die.
~ Charge of the Light Brigade, Alfred Lord Tennyson

Retreat to the sea
The ocean state;
Each wave retracting furiously
(Walking down the road, a girl.)
Images never stay
Escaping from a fisher’s grasp
The eels slip away
(Consciousness meets at the crossroads.)
Extensive walls, untouchable,
Provide a blockade –
A solitarily sad castle
(She paints over the turbulent water.)
The princess inside the tower
Waiting, behind stone doors
With fidelity’s sweet smile
The reality can be disguised.
But doors with locks
Remain barred doors,
Inside fantasy’s traitorous friendship
(Now, only soft warmth remains.)
Mind’s eyes betray, for
Only what is beyond the closed curtains
Is true pain and joy.

You can't hide from life... and only when you finally decide to face it, is when you can truly experience feelings.
