Alter Ego
You are two, different in your own.
You have different sides, different lives,
Different loves,
Which one is right?
Gentle, delicate, much like a flower.
Unsure of yourself, just as I.
When thought of love, it make you quiver.
So sweet, you have to apologize.
This is the side that you have shown,
When you are down and on your own.
When you can’t figure out what is right,
A prince is in my sight.
This is the side that I love the most.
Cocky, arrogant, a jerk all around.
When you are with your friends, these traits seem profound,
You laugh and talk of foolish things,
Breaking hearts, taking dreams.
This is the side that you have shown,
When your morals have been thrown.
When all you want is to climb the social ladder,
Where egos become increasingly fatter.
So tell me darling,
While you discard me,
Why two alter selves?
How can someone be so confused,
That in order to find your true self,
You are contempt at being torn into?
You are two, different in your own.
You have different sides, different lives,
Different loves,
Which one is right?
