Teardrops of Animals

Gooey black runs through the water like the teardrops of animals-
Tiny, no control of the path set out against them-
Their eyes blackened like the earth surrounding
Them, another cry goes unheard.
Beneath the mask of death lies something unseen,
Hearts filled with love’s capacity. longing for a voice
They speak unspoken truths in the night
Overshadowed by power, lust, they become lost
She is picked up out of the filth; warmth surrounds her
As she understands this curse is a Gift.
