monsters
his blue eyes pierced my skin, as if needles were playing tag on the inches of my pale flesh and with nothing to do, i scream.
scream horrendous shrills from down underneath.
close your eyes count to 5. is he gone.?
no.!
hes there.!
and here.!
and oh look hes everywhere.!
my childish imaginations of 'I cant see you you cant see me' began to fade away as i realized hiding under the covers would not make this boogeyman go away.
where the light of my mothers arrival wouldn't make the closet monsters evaporate.
i run.
i hide.
i listen.
i learn.
i seek.
as far as my legs will take me.
under the sheets.
for the heart beat.
of my way out.
