Straight and flat- Oh deck of Cards,
Your 52 pieces determine my fate,
A hierarchy rules your world.
With each turn, value revealed,
A different meaning for some,
No written rules, with no set path.
Bleak and simple, yet amusing,
Hours and hours spent with you,
Always changing, never a pattern.
Luck and chance, you impress on others,
Picking favorites, only one can win,
You wait, motionless, awaiting the game,
Your turn, my turn, the game begins.
