Dead Poets Society
When do we really begin to learn?
Is it when we memorize formulas and equations?
Is it doing six hours of homework per night,
Trying to understand something we
Don’t. Even. Care. About.
Or is it when we, as individuals
Learn to think for ourselves?
When we tear out the pages of
Unnecessary information
From our textbooks
To make room for what really matters…
People may see it as unorthodox
That kids would rather be Free Thinkers
Than Ignorant Conformists
But we know what is important to us
(And it’s different for everyone)
So we need to learn it ourselves,
Strengthen it with our own, thriving thoughts.
So tear those pages out!
Throw them into the air!
Get a new perspective!
Break the lock-step of society’s expectations!
Think for yourself!
Be yourself!
And don’t let anyone tell you differently…
