Single Breath, Simple Prayer

A single breath
Could be the last.
It could be
The Solution.

It's worked for so many
Common knowledge,
Yet a taboo.

Don't get me wrong,
I'm not depressed.

I just look inside and see
Emptiness.
Loneliness.
Numbness.

A blank sheet of paper
Is where my soul should be.
I lack the markers to
Give it color.

My body is covered in scars
Though they are invisible.
Nobody can share
My pain.

This cruel, cruel world
Chips away at me.
Every word.
Every glance.
Everything.

A battered, charred block of wood
That has lost all shape.
A simple pound of pressure
Would bring it all down.

My mind has launched its counterattack:
Numbness.
Now, nothing.

I know there is a God.
I think there is a God.
Is there a God?

Help.
Amen.

There is a God up there watching you! Give him the space and he'll help you! I cried reading this, because I've felt it. I still feel most of honestly, except the part about questioning if there is a god. This I'm sure of. More than anything in the world.

I know exactly what you mean by this. Sometime colors don't always help though....

This is really beautiful and soooo relatable (spelling!?) anyways, I feel like even if a person does not have such extreme feelings, everyone has those days when they feel down and like they do not matter. Your poem encompasses all these feelings beautiful and still gives off a feeling of hope. It seems like there is alot of dispair and you (or the narrator) embraces it, but wants to be better and has hope that one day things will change. Just my interpretation :D Seriously, I luv this! Keep writing! <3

I know how u feel.  I have written things similar to this and felt the exact same way.  Yes, there is a God and His name is Jesus Christ.  He loves you and He will fill you with all u need to not just survive but to thrive.  God loves you.  Believe that.

btw...plz trust me as a 15 yr old teen..saying..THERE IS A GOD..i put my life on the line to prove that HE LIVES..JESUS LIVES...u might think he isnt hearing u..but he is...he's just has another plan in mind than the one u thought bout.....evryting happens for a reason..so dont worry...God has evryting planned out...all u hav to do is give him ur choice..he isnt goin to force u...u hav to choose him..:)..hope dis helps ...:)
