You can always find hope, even in the darkest of times, if you only remember to turn on a light
~Albus Dumbledore

The sun shines down with sparkling rays,
Bouncing off the shattered glass that lies all around.
You could hardly recognize this glorious scene,
As a place of terror only the night before.

There stands the angel in a flowing gown,
Her wings stretched out, her hand beckoning to something.
“Come to me,” she whispers, “Wake up.”
Suddenly the silence is pierced by a young girl’s sobbing.

She lays on the floor in a pool of tears as the angel watches her.
Glass lays all around her, it shines like diamonds and drips ruby blood.
Last night, it had become too much. The girl had lost her calm façade.
It had taken too much effort to act fine any longer.

But now, as she lies in her destruction, she can find no escape.
“It’s too much,” she cries out, “Someone save me!”
Again, the angel reaches for her, the girl raises her head.
“I love you; I’m here to save you.” The angel stretches closer.

The girl slowly raises herself and allows the angel to pull her in.
“It’s been so long since someone has cared for me,” she whimpers.
To this, the angel quietly laughs, it’s a sweet sound.
“No,” she assures, “Your Father in Heaven has always loved you!”

As the amazing revelation of a true Friend, a God who truly cares, sinks in,
The scars covering the girl’s fragile body begin to heal.
All her hurting, betrayal, and troubles vanish. She starts to cry, but happily.
“Thank you,” she rejoices, “Thank you, God, for your undying love has awakened me!”
