Charlie Plumey
My itty bitty kitty witty
ran so far when I thought he’d never leave me
and my heart is breaking
as he keeps on taking
steps to where the trees are shaking.
The night has fallen and so have I,
and after having surrendered I look to the sky
and raise my hands up so high.
In this situation of desperation
I look for some salvation
from that God I don’t believe in
and beg before him to forgive my sins
in hopes he’ll send my baby home.
I don’t want him to be alone
yet I can’t pick up my faithful phone
only when I need assistance,
because a God like you needs persistence.
You created his sun-colored coat
his wiry whiskers, his ability to float
over waves of snow, and I know you know
but I feel the need to remind
because I fear his lack of time-
please, just let his light shine.
His eyes are the planets you overlook
and what I know from your book,
I heard you accept apologies.
So I’m sorry, so very sorry
but please, let me have
my itty bitty kitty witty
back in my arms again.
