Trying in a corrupt world

I don’t know who I am
I don’t know what I want to be
I think that I’ve been hallowed out
Left a shell of the former me
The world around me never stops
But I’m not ready to move
Now I’m dug uncomfortably
Into a little groove
I try to claw my way back up
By pushing haters down
While they’re always a step ahead
I’m stuck down at the ground
All I want is my fair share
I want a chance to be
The person that I idolize
Instead of plain old me
