If your words were a tempest
I’d stand under them and let
Their thunder chase away my ghosts
And their lightning strike down my foes
As I sit beneath the raindrops
In our gnarled willow tree
Together
with you
And as the restless winds blew by
I’d look up at the sky
Through the downpour of my tears
As I watch your tender raindrops
Piece together
My broken soul
