An eye for an eye only makes the whole world blind.
You never know what you have until it's gone.

Take my dying heart,
And tear it from my chest.
Steal away my tattered soul,
And gently lie me to rest.

For I am a broken angel,
My feathers all plucked out.
And slowly I am falling,
Onto the cold, wet ground.

My hopes and dreams have vanished,
My smile has faded dim.
From my Heaven, I was banished,
Now my future seems quite grim.

So here forever shall I lie,
Broken and defeated.
With nothing left on the inside,
'Cause my will to forge on has been depleted.

Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, but learning to dance in the rain.

My heart is blind, that so it can love the soul that is too bright for the eyes to see.

This poem is extraordinary. Usually, the theme of angels and broken wings are quite a cliche, but you made it your own. I simply love the line "From my Heaven, I was banished"; it's something I've never read before. You're a great writer, and I hope to read more!
