Sentenced

Trapped within the confines of time,
And sentenced to eighteen years.
Caged within a number,
Subject to society's fears.
Charged with a crime,
But no real trial.
The verdict unfair,
But the ruling final.
Freedom was lost,
Before it begun.
The war is over,
and I haven't won.
