Love-life;
The word expression rolls off your lips, a channel for individuality and eccentricity
A fire burns in your eyes with the knowledge of a million sunsets, days gone by
I find myself indulged, head tilted as you speak the answers we're all searching for
Who are you standing before me tonight, strong and right when I need it most
They're all working hard, throwing cards at a cup trying to understand these years here
You speak effortlessly with a certainty none can ascertain or even come to believe
Guide me to where you are, let me see your heart and your dreams and your being
Show me the way to live, how I can unlock all that is me, everything I'd like to see
Heartbeats under the full moon, so orange and queer against the black backdrop
We don't fit much more than the stars in the sky, trying to shine against the moon's superiority
There's something now, in feeling how we feel, in being here a little less alone than on our own
You smile, and I know what happiness looks like, so bright the moon's jealousy is tangible
Blue-dusted eyes sparkling, shimmering, smooth and sure in a chaotic misunderstanding
I didn't know love until I felt your hand in mine, wasn't sure of hope until I felt your heartbeat
Eyes-opened in your presence I know good, and bad when you leave me once again
We're only human, each flawed and faltering, but unwavering in our living, we live together
And the day comes, the paths part, you and I no more know what it is that was, between us
Changed, from the core to the tips of my fingers, every facet of my being, because of you
And they believe you have to know someone to know them, but we--we know more
A glance, a chance encounter, a passing moment of time and space to ensure a change in a lifetime.
