Carpe Diem
because hardened hearts
don't beat the same
and you can throw all the storms you want at me
but I'll just peer through the curtains
to see the lightning burn patterns in the sky
then later I'll brush the hailstones from my windowsill
and find a good place to stand outside
so I can catch the last drops in my ever open hands
and smile with my sun
(and rain but not him) kissed lips
then,
armed with the mighty notebook and pen
I'll sit somewhere to watch the world turn green again
