This is my religion
I’m sorry it’s not the same as yours
I don’t believe in your God
But you say I should
You tell me I am a bad person
And that I’m only struggling to find my way
But the way I live life is good, the things I do and say
I give
I share
I listen and don’t judge
And most of all I will always give you respect for the things you love
I get it, I understand that you believe
That you have faith
I know that is who you are
But I can’t say the same for you
You won’t ever accept me for me
I’m not a believer, but I am a human just like you
I won’t pray, but I promise you that I will sin
I don’t go to church, but I have succeeded without His guiding hand
But if you’re right and there is a God
And there is a heaven
He will understand my doubt and I will be forgiven
So tell me I’m wrong
Keep trying to remind me that I am one of God’s children
Go and preach His word
It’s what the bible says to do
But let me believe in what I believe
Because believe me I will let you
And don’t tell me I’m wrong with my mindset or morals, or that I am only struggling to find my way
If you do though, I will lose no respect. I will only tell you this:
“Stay strong in your faith, it is who you’ve become
you are beautiful, smart, determined, and young
we all have our doubts
there is a reason we look both ways before we cross the street
but just wait and you will see because there will never be a right or wrong in the things
we believe”

"The reason people find it so hard to be happy is that they always see the past better than it was, the present worse than it is, and the future less resolved than it will be ."

This has a very strong message. I understand it completely. Beautiful meaning.

I live in the middle of the bible belt. It's been hard for me growing up an atheist. I guess some people may not understand. It's different though, when people treat you like they've treated me. You may not have ver come across them, lucky you. And thank you for being a follower of God and accepting that I don't have to believe in Him to live a wonderful life, but not all people are that accepting. At least not where I am. This poem is dieected to those people, not towards you. I cab assure you of that.

Negative ratings.. I'm sorry. I've never tried to force ANYONE to believe in God, nor will I ever. I just try to help. If they reject that help, then they will find the path to salvation on their own. Think of me as an opportunity. If you reject me, it's your loss not mine. You believe the way you want. Everyone's walk with God is their own.

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

Me personally i believe in a higher power . but i love this poem i have nevered forced anyone to believing what i believe theres a possiblity i can be wrong . you keep your faith i dont blame you at all you are who you are you are not a lost child trying to find its way . No, you are you regardless of what your religion is . its really irrelavent . Keep it up Kid =)
