As She Sang of Sweet Seduction
She let go of a power she had never been able to use.
As she cried a liquid monstrosity for the love that died thrice
She fell in love with her deprivation
Her solitude
And her black hole, bellowing for compassion.
Hungering for a ballet of beauty.
Lusting for a tango of tongues.
She imploded.
A force greater than faith demanded a Godly emotion that she could not provide.
She demoted herself to an idea that weakness was alive inside her puffy eyes.
Her forgotten silence.
The bone that broke when she tried to shake the continent
And it’s healing but she’s still in pain.
And she’s trying to forget.
To wash away all the sins and the sanctuaries.
To inhale 22.4 Liters of sanity.
To become one with the smile painted on her open mouth
And the forced posture that comforted her.
Shoulders back, chin up, knees bent.
Oh, how she longed to defy their rules.
To walk on her hands and dance with her eyelashes.
To prove, and declare to the world that, that each salty tear that passed over her cheek
Was a promise that she would learn and grow.
For each stream she strategically stepped over, she relived an ancient memory
And now, in this moment, her vision was skewed as she drowned in silence.
Maybe one day she will realize that the sea is not her home.
And she’ll float away on a blanket letting the currents fondle her like no man has before.
Letting her belief in the sun’s power to burn be her bible.
Letting the image of death wander through her thoughts without fear of decay.
She pressed her cheek into the sand
Proclaiming to the Earth that she had arrived.
And as she danced on the shores of this unfamiliar beach
She made love to the crisp, clean air.
