Not the Time
I turned to a blade last night
Striving for a glance of light
All I found were pieces of my broken heart
Strewn all around me, completely apart
I searched my mind for answers
But I found no ease of pain or slurs
Only blood on my wrist,
my hand in a clenched fist
I wondered what's a reason to live
I have a nothing more to give
Staring down at the razor blade
I thought, "Look at the failure God made"
Sobs caught in my throat
like a jolt of large waves against a boat
But I couldn't leave my love and my best friend
Then I realized last night was not the time to end.
