Ditch the Modern Tragedy
This modern tragedy begins
With a night of broken promises
Mixed with a shot of alcohol
 And two people who have
Nothing to look forward to in life

 Everyone’s messing up
She just can’t see through the lies
And I’m so sick of it
 Three words he never meant
With lies spread out over the bed

 A woeful night eventually ends
He leaves her asleep in bed
 She awakes with hazy memories
 And an empty feeling
 That everything is terribly wrong

 Everyone’s messing up
She just can’t escape the routine
And I’m so sick of it
 Three words he said again
The lies spread out over the bed

 She drags herself up
To face a morning of lost hope
 Coffee in one hand
 Wine in the other
 To repeat a draining cycle

 He messed up
She got caught in between lies
 It was all so sickening
 Three words he never meant
 Leaving her in bed

 The next day she awakes
 With that same lonely feeling
 Lifting a frame on the
 Bedside table
And dried tears on the pillow
