I had a little butterfly notebook full of everything
My hopes my dreams

Everything I loved to look at was in that butterfly notebook
Except one night
I reached for it in the middle of the night to scribble down some half dreamed thought to find it wasn't there
Fast forward fifty years
I am old and tired but fulfilled and have never felt more loved and have loved
Imagine my surprise when I find a little notebook with faded butterflies on it and the dreams of a little girl inside
As I looked through the tender pages
I wasn't disappointed that I had lost it
Because I had remembered all the dreams I kept inside of the book inside my head and heart
And as I closed it i once again continued a chapter in the butterfly notebook that was my life
