A Sociopath's Response to His Diagnosis
Let me educate you:
I am not a body but a being,
a squirming bursting sticky
bundle of emotions.
I am not blood and dry bones
but a feeling, a conviction,
a fleeting image burning on your retinas.
Don’t try to tell me what I am.
You’ve studied me for a month;
I’ve studied myself since day 1.
Don’t try to empathize with me.
You know as well as I that
empathy is power.
Don’t try to reach into me.
You’ll discover that there’s
nothing in the center of me.
And don’t try to fight it when I’m near.
Just close your eyes so I can
suck the sunlight from your skin.
