He ran and he ran,
He didn’t know where he went,
Or why he ran,
He just ran.
With a prayer sent to the winds,
For speed,
For agility,
He ran.
Off through the woods,
Where the spirit of the wolves,
Ran with him,
He ran.
He passed the village,
The smokes and cinders,
Fires and ashes,
Twisted and gnarled,
Around and through,
His copper skin,
He did not breathe,
Could not breathe
And so,
Did not cough,
Could not cough
Just ran,
Just ran.
He traversed the worlds,
All the way to the End of the Worlds,
And met every creature,
And every nature’s blessing,
He never stopped,
Never took a break,
Just ran.
His feet never tired,
Just whispered to the Earth,
Of his presence,
And so he had no worries,
And needed no sleep.
Once he reached the End,
He stopped.
Just stopped.
And turned away,
Back.
And ran,
Ran again.
This pattern he repeated,
And repeats still,
Through every age,
And every day,
He runs.
