Ode to Rest
I come home, frustrated
And I work, work, and never stop.
I want peace
All with high expectations
None realizing I am human
My head is in pain
I can’t bear it
Another second and I will burst.
I want rest
Like a war ending,
Like a tree in the fall,
Like death…
All others are perfect
And scorn me for not
I’m me, not a goddess,
Nothing loves me, except
Hate itself.
Peace hates me, and I hate it.
