Mister Green Eyes is Gone
Swallowed by the sight of the sky,
looking up, I lose myself in disbelief.
I run and I run away, heart pounding, blurry vision.
Found myself drowning in tears, it was all my decision.
Cold splashes of reality slap my face, cold as ice.
Retracing my steps, in hopes to find
some trace of me, that’s somewhere left behind.
I lost myself in you, but I’m running and running.
The image of your face deteriorates, evaporates,
into a hidden secret of the sky, so long to you.
Goodbye mister green eyes.
Goodbye mister green eyes, I let go.
If I had one more thing to say,
I’d say thank you.
For helping me appreciate fear,
thank you for making it clear.
I’ll keep running and running.
Goodbye mister green eyes, I’m leaving.
On the coldest nights of winter,
the hottest days of summer,
darkest moments in the night,
brightest moments in the sun,
when you change your mind,
and consider me your number one,
even when you look down from the sky,
I still won’t be here.
