Long day
I come home to
Find you sitting silently in
The kitchen cabinet.
Vigilant,
Watching and waiting.
I tear open the wrapper and
Indulge
Slowly,
Taking in each
Bite of bliss individually and
Gradually;
I would not dare to insult your
Calorie- loaded perfection
By diving in too quickly.
I am a lion,
A fierce predator,
And you are today’s
First
Victim.
More of your kind will perish soon.
