Christmas Miracle
Snow flurries float down from above
Resting on her head
Venturing from the little alcove
She bravely presses ahead
Why did they have to leave?
She lost her only home
What did that achieve?
She just has to believe…
One day she will return
To her own house and home
Where friends and family alike
Will share in warmth and light
But why did they have to leave?
She lost her only home
What did that achieve?
She just had to believe.
On Christmas day she walks the street
Wishing she could see this day
A place in which her family could stay
Why did they have to leave?
That is something even she can’t see
So what did that achieve?
In something for her to believe
In the haze of snow
Is a neon sign’s bright glow
Could she have found at last
A miracle to be cast?
Why did they have to leave?
She could not perceive
Although it achieved
Something to hope for and believe
Welcoming in residents
A sign said, ‘Free food and stay
the night away, on this
Christmas day.’
Why did they have to leave?
She does not know and does not need
To know why this great tragedy
Happens every day.
But her family will sleep,
And have food to eat
For not all are bad in this upkeep
In every tragic event
There can be a blessing
Making the restless heart content
In the greatest of ways
