"Isn't it funny how you broke my heart, but I still love you with all the pieces?"
"It's easy to stand in a crowd, but it takes courage to stand alone"
"What would you attempt if you knew you could never fail?"

Empty words
Slipping through our lips
Fingers intertwined
That’s what they do
That’s why
Out of all people
We picked each other
I think it was
Memories play back
I begin to cry
What is this wet substance
Falling from my eyes?
They will be absorbed
Into the clouds
Like any other water molecule
That’s all they are
Water molecules
But the ones on my face are sad
I’m not sure why
Because I said
I didn’t really like you
Maybe I was wrong
Or maybe you were right
That we’re too different to be
In love
I think I was just too excited about
Falling in love
I wanted it to work
So bad
That I just kept pushing
For something that would
Never come around
Now I’m just
Shaken up and confused
And I don’t like it
All that much
I really do miss you though
My attempt at love was
Long ago and
Thinking back on how you were
I think I really
Was in love
And just didn’t notice because
Expectations were set too high
But I thought I didn’t like you
So I told you
And you got up and
Left me
So now I realize that I am
Too late
Did you hear that crack?
I think another
Piece of my heart just
Fell to the ground

"... How dreary to be somebody-- How public like a frog;
To tell one's name; the livelong June-- To an admiring bog"
-Emily Dickinson

I just added this poem to my favorites. I got a little choked up at the ending. The funny thing is right now I'm listening to The Fray and they're singing is exactlly like this poem. 5/5
