love is a dumb word
yet its considered important
by all
love is false
when its meaning isn't spoken of
with patience and
peace and laughter
yet its true
when its talked about
with care and tears
and secretive rhymes
love is blind
yet it's beautiful
to all that have it
love is deaf
yet it's the song a bird sings
with melody
love hurts
yet it also heals
a broken heart overtime
love is many things
its age
for the young and old
its delicate
buried in softness
or the coldness
of a winter night
its death
remembering those
that have past
and those that died for others
it's tears that some
shed when they remember
what was "once upon a time"
it's indefinite
like the stars
it's without reason
like most things in the world
it's that indescribable
feeling we get
you know the one
that we say gets butterflies
in our tummies
or the carving of initials
in a tree
or dancing in the moonlight
or even the light drizzle
of the rain
love is undefined
love is pure
love is beautiful
love is a must
love is time
and love is the tears that we cry
when we remember that
love was once upon a time
love is many things that
would make this poem too long
but the point of these
lines is
understanding where
did true love go?
and why it's not here again
