"Why are people born? Why do they die? Why do they want to spend so much of the intervening time wearing digital watches?"- Douglas Adams, The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy

Blank faced and heartless,
All spider-like
With your skeleton inside out
Heavy hearted and scarless,
I'm not even screaming aloud
Not even for the spiders

If you're not careful the spiders will bite
All hairy legged and feather-light
Crawling along the walls
Almost invisible when night falls
But still you scream without knowing why
We cannot sleep at night

But spiders are silly, boneless things
Don't even have no wings
Jumping along on sticky strings
My dear we've nothing to fear
Not even spiders

I must be half mad
To love what I fear
And perfectly sane
To fear what I love
Some days I promise you will wake up
Wondering what you were dreaming of
Most days you will wake up
Wanting to go back
Insteadof facing the perilous flight
Always lying ahead
You and me, my dear
We cannot sleep at night

Spiders are silly things
They got no wings
Jumpinging around on sticky strings
You and me, my dear
We've nothing to fear
Not even but spiders

God only knows how odd it is
That a spider can be both a curse and a blessing
We can sleep well at night
Becasue of spiders
But because of spiders
We cannot sleep at night
We cannot sleep at night

When I came up with this I was thinking about irrational fears, and how odd they are for me.
