What matters most is not how much money you have in the bank, or what you have lying around in your house, it is the thing that will stay with you forever and never leave your side. That, my dear friend, is love.

Thanksgiving comes once a year.
It is a time where you can smile from ear to ear.
Food fills our smiling mouths,
Looking at your food piled in mounds.
The parade playing in the background,
as the kids play in the backyard, yelling aloud.
Mom and dad in the kitchen, cooking something yummy.
Trying to keep the dogs out so they can fill our bellies.
Family coming and going just to eat and talk.
Grandma and the kids go for a walk.
The turkey lies on the table all dressed up.
By this time, every has a cup.
We sit around the table,
As food lines it as best as it is able.
WE all say a prayer and then take a seat,
Not waiting anymore for the delicious meat.
People sitting in each chair, talking and eating as much as they can,
Hearing mom in the background yell "Go. Go man,"
At the football game. After it is all said and done,
We all sit around knowing there is no more fun.
Pants come unbuttoned
And misery is noted.
With food in our belly, and our mind filled with good times
Turkey day comes to an end until next time.
Happy thanksgiving
