"Friends are like trees; they fall if you hit them multiple times with an axe."

Like a beautiful thing
Behind a screen
A wonderful treasure
Never to be seen
If they love in rainbow color
Or follow a different religion
Too scared of being hated
Keeping secrets deep within.
But if you swear to understand
Then maybe you will find
A way to pull away the screen
And let their true light shine.

I wrote this poem about what I wished for. I chose tolerance. I want people to be able to love whomever they want to and believe whatever they want to.
Amen.

Every time I read this (even though I've read it at least 5 times) it always makes me think. This is a great represnetation (I spelled that wrong, oh well) of what this world is without tolerance, and how it could be better with it. Great job, Tess! :)
