New beginnings come from old goodbyes,
So as you walk away, I can’t cry,
I have to hold up my head,
Even as I watch you fall for her instead,
I stay strong,
Carry on,
Stand tall,
When I want to fall,
Then through it all I see,
The person I want to be,
Smiling through the pain,
Standing with nothing but to gain,
I was afraid to lose you,
But I never did chose you,
So now you act like we are fine,
I don’t mind if you don’t cross that line,
I’ve moved on,
My heart is long gone,
So you can play this game,
I no longer see you to blame,
I’ve let it go,
Just thought I’d let you know,
Because new beginnings come from old goodbyes,
I see everything now through fresh, clear eyes.
