Remember That Time?
You are the pop to my tart,
 The fruit to my loop,
The peanut butter to my jelly.
 That's what they say.
 It may be true.
But my memories with you define our friendship
Not just the trust we share
 Or the laughs
 Or the secrets
But the memories that come with it.

 Can you remember
The first time that we met?
 I can.
 We were both afraid
 Of showing our true colors.
 Not seeing
The bond that was already there.
That first week may have ended
 As soon as it started.
 But our friendship
 Had just begun.
 Now we are sisters
 We know each other
 More than anyone else
 Letting our inner light shine
We have been through thick and thin

 Remember that time
 At the lake?
 You wouldn't swim.
Your hair could not get wet.
 So I ended up
 On the log with you
Instead of in the water where I belonged
 But somehow we both laughed
And had just as much fun,
Even when we figured out you could get wet.

 Remember that time,
 When I accidentally let slip
 That you liked him?
 It was for the best.
And when he asked you to be his girlfriend
I was right there with you
 And supported you
When there was no one else

 Remember that time
When you became my best friend?
