Where Im From
Im from a place,
Where the streets are live,
Infested with crime,
Never spending too much,
Trying to save every dime.
Im from a place where,
“I can do all things through Christ”,
Is the motto,
Clubs downtown are always jumping,
Shots are filled with vodka and mascato.
Im From a place ,
Where boy’s pants hang low,
And Survival of The Fittest,
Is a game you must know.
Im from a place,
Where single mothers work hard,
Who stay on their grind,
Where so called dad’s,
Are no where to be found,
But always seem to show their face,
When the child is all grown up now.
Im from a place,
Where we love fried chicken,
Add some Texas Pete Hot Sauce,
You got our all time favorite.
Im from struggles,
And accomplishments,
I am from mistakes and tears,
Im from a family that never shows fear.
Im from love,
But also hidden pain,
Im from the man upstairs,
That loves me unconditally,
No matter how much I mess up,
Im still treated the same.
Im from a Hershey’s Bar,
Where dreams make up who we are,
Never looking down,
But always shooting for the stars.
Im from a place where people try to knock you down,
Try to kill your smile,
A place where we are undefeatable,
Call us Mike Tyson.
Im from a place,
Where people waste their time on,
Hatred,Mistreatment, and Fakeness,
But a church,
That helps you live right,
So we can experience God’s greatness.
Im from a lesson,
Always taught life is short,
Yet Precious,
Always stopping to thank God for my blessings.
Im from a place,
Where we NEVER give up,
Through the worst we know how to survive,
Visualizing our future,
Our biggest prize.
