I am Building a House...
I am building a house.
 A wonderful house.
A house that only I could live in.
A house too big for a mouse.
 A house that is unique.

 I am building a house.
 It has thick walls.
 Many windows.
 Also, many halls.

 I am building a house.
 It has a basement.
 A shaded porch.
 For when in the Summer,
I can sit on it and drink tea.

 I am building a house.
 It has a kitchen, a
 train room, a bathroom,
a bedroom, even a TV room!

 I am building a house.
It has a garden in the backyard.
 A soccer field.
 A shed for holding tools.
 A pasture with goats.

 I am building a house.
A log cabin in Canada, that’s what it will be!
A house next to the sea.
Or, a house in the middle of a prairie!

 I am building a house.
A house that my kids, and grandkids,
and great grandkids, and so on and so forth,
 can live in.

My kids will tell how I built this house.
No, it isn’t a house next to the sea.
Or a log cabin in Canada.
But, it’s just perfect for you and me.
