Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

My heart beats faster
And eyes grow wide
As you hold me close
Standing side by side
So wrong but so right,
A confusing finesse
My head warns me no
But my heart screams out yes

About me and a guy I like who likes me too, but because we've... basically dated each other's best friends before, it wouldn't be right to be together. *sad face* =(

Clever, on point, and not overdone. I think some poems are meant to be epics (ie The Illiad) and some are to be savored like small candies.

Truth is rarely pure and never simple~Oscar Wilde

This is a short and to-the-point poem. I like it simply because it gets the point across without it being overly fruity. I know what it's like to want something but you're not allowed to have it. I hope all the best for you and maybe things will work out. I like the "A confusing finesse" part. It's a small descriptive writing. People overly describe sometimes, but you put it just right, even if it is short and sweet.
