American Soldier

I know it's right,
So today I fight,
For a freedom that isn't free,
For my family to live in liberty.
One shot,
Two shot,
Three shot,
Four.
I fall to the dirt covered ground.
Never to hear another sound.
Today I fought,
Because freedom isn't free,
So America can live in liberty.
I hope they remember me.
A soldier who fought with all his might,
Who now descends into an endless night.
