Anemone
This famous scandal
Of hunter and dame
True love that may not separate
But Ares has a mind of his own
Jealousy as usual
The monster arrives
The huntsman strikes with a spear to small
The tusks of the beast leave him to crawl
Death comes by and takes him home.
Soon the goddess hurries with her swan-led chariot
But it is too late her lover is gone
A single tear scars the beauty’s face
And anger soon takes place.
A vile is opened and nectar is sprinkled
Despair, but determination.
Aphrodite drags her love out of the forest
Leaving trails of blood and nectar.
Flowers are born with small blossoms
Wind blows and they burst open
Small but beautiful are the petals
But the wind comes back to take away
What it has given to anemone.
