shattered glass
multicolored, spilling across the room.
The dust and grit bleeds into the cracks, filling the notches
From dust to dust to glass and dust again,
we are smoothed and polished stones, perfected by the tides and seas.
The waves of uncertainty and pain perfect us.
I tumble over the boards and shatter the window.
The glass tinkles and my arms are cut.
Redlines fade to white with time.
Red wines and white dripping into the floor from shattered bottles.
Broken hearts and broken feelings in your house.
We will never be pieced back together.
