I am
A shadow unseen in darkness
A teardrop unnoticed through rain
Fleeting
Passing
Slipping
away
like
A golden dream lost on a dark, dark day

I am
A love note lost in stormy winds
A first kiss that will never be
Gossamery
Apocryphal
Quickly fading
away
like
Dead wilting flowers in a bride's bouquet

I am
A bone-dry thirst that can't be quenched
A child's cry that won't be heard
Invisible
Inhibited
Fading
away
like
All stars going dark in the milky way

I am
Voiceless if you don't speak to me
I can't stand if I'm on my own
Vulnerable
Reticent
Vanishing
away
like
All the world’s colors just fading to gray

The author's comments:
"Evanescent" means vanishing, fleeting, barely perceptible. The title of this poem- "Evanescent" sums up the feelings of the speaker. I am writing for, and about, all those girls who feel alone, who feel incomplete or unseen without someone to love them.

How do you think you ARENT as good as ME?!?!?!? I FREAKING LOVE THIS! It speaks to the deepest part of my heart...
