let it burn, suffering teaches the soul; let it grow, love nourishes the heart.

I wish I could tell you who I am, but I don’t know,
I’ve lost myself, no longer understand my life’s flow,
I don’t know how to find myself, I’m just to far lost,
And a part of me doesn’t want to, is afraid of the cost,
I don’t want to be alone, even if I knew myself,
Because without a friend, I have no wealth,
I would choose to be lost forever, if I had not a friend,
Who I am would not matter, if I was alone to my end,
I want to find myself, and a friend who really cares,
For who I may be, is pointless without others to share,
If I had a friend, who would be with me till the end,
Then I could find myself, truly begin to mend,
All I’ve ever needed to heal, is just one true friendship,
But its all I could never find, on my every trip,
I’ve searched so hard, so long, so many times,
All the results of my sorrow, are written in rhymes,
Please tell me, have I finished my search, reached its end,
Are you a true friend?
