When Anger Faced Me
You said you were fine
But your facial features
Never failed to give away
The rocky emotions
You always tried to hide
I remember seeing
Anger print itself
On your hazel, green eyes
And I wondered if I
Could erase the worry
Sketched into your pale skin
You said you wanted to forget.
I scrambled for some
Coherent apology
As hate tumbled
From your full lips
But any forgiveness was
Misplaced when your bones
Froze beneath you
Rosy cheeks
You walked away
From me then
And I remember,
Your hair was a glorious
Shade of brown
