Whispers From my Mind
She puts on a smile that could fool the whole world.
Knows how to pick herself up off of the floor.
Always seeking, never reaping what she really needs.
A light when it’s dark,
A helping hand from the start,
Outstretched arms of someone who cares.
Hoping to find what she desires,
She turns to him who proves a liar.
Forgetting her name until seeing her face.
Always making excuses for replying late.
Willing to take, and refusing to chase.
Her mind is at a race.
Why does the world always seem to tease her,
Taunt her,
Use her as a pawn in its deceptive games.
Maybe it’s time to run away from all that’s familiar.
Star someplace new.
Seek happiness elsewhere until it’s all consumed.
A break from the madness,
A change of place,
Bringing her back to where she can see her own face.
A stop to the madness,
A break from all time,
Somewhere the same sad song doesn’t intertwine.
Empty of heartbreaks, and mistakes
Regret, and shame
Beauty and pain.
