I cringe at the inevitable fact
That is clearly printed on the labels.
On the labels of the world and of the afterlives.

I've probably committed such cruel acts.
But my involvement doesn't make sinning alright.

Those who call the devil a friend
May be my loose acquaintances.
But they aren't people I'll claim to know.

I'll pretend to be as pure as you like.
I may even smile in spite of the darkness.

I may even weave a daisy chain.
But my allegiance has been pledged to the devil.

I'll keep dismissing that I'll be caught.
And your innocent self can judge me forever

But, I know you're no foe of the dark.
And in public, I don't know you at all.
