Backwards

Why can't the world be backwards?
Where we sleep at the foot of the bed
instead of the head?
Where we run from finish to start
and read from end to beginning?
Where we start talking from the
end of our sentences
so we have the chance
to hush our words
before they're said?
Where we can create a mess
instead of erasing the stress?
Oh why can't the world be backwards?
Where we can already know
what we've learned?
And where we can realize
that the world should be asking,
Why can't the world be forwards?
