If I Could Tell You the Time
I wish I could be something
Different for you
So I wouldn't be
Such a bother
Maybe, you would still love me
If I were a more
Helpful thing
Perhaps a clock?
Because,
If I were a clock
I would freeze time
So we could always
Be together in a single moment
And I would hold your hand
With my two hands
And we could make memories
In minutes or hours
If I were a clock
You would always
Want me near
I could even be
Your pocket watch
And with my help
You would never be late
For important events
Such as weddings
Or lunch dates
Or airplane flights
If I were a clock
I might be better for you
Than I am as an
Awkward human being.
