A Love
Love is a cascading river,
Powerful and strong;
It is a young stag
Running wild and free.
Love is the brush of a butterfly’s wings,
Gentle and soft;
It is the beat of a hummingbird’s heart,
Steady and insistent.
Love is the moon high in the sky,
Shining bright and hopeful;
It is the dark of night,
Mysterious and impenetrable.
Love is loss,
Sorrowful and sad;
It is a way of life,
Of hatred and happiness.
Love is a thing that lives inside
Waiting to be woken,
So it may live and thrive again,
Never to be broken.
