Favorite Quote:
I know God won't give me anything I can't handle. I just wish he didn't trust me so much...

I cringe and crawl along the floor
Out of fear of my own opinions.
Opinions are diseases.
When spread, they breed discontentment in other men
For they did not wish to catch your disease.
What good can come from my own thoughts?
I am part of it all, not my own parts.

The power of persuasion is mine to hold.
When I speak my thoughts,
No one can keep me from my own mind
For as long as I make my own opinions
Fellow men are my puppets and I, the puppeteer.

My ignorant self must always obey!
Never to stray from the World as it is.
The World is the reason men walk this earth.
If one were to vary, every life would shatter

The author's comments:
In English class we were taught how to write 2-vioce poems, where the 1st and 3rd stanzas are in one perspective and the ins stanza is in an opposing perspective. I was inspired by Ayn Rand's book, Anthem, to write this poem about the power of the individual.
